How often do you find yourself in a situation where you are outnumbered in a game, projects, and/or people asking questions?
I have three kids and am constantly outnumbered, even when my wife is home. From my constant experiences with my kids I have learned you have to divide them up. Not literally but as a collective group to keep them entertained and happy. A battle strategy for the home.
I believe we should show some appreciation to teachers, they deal with large amounts of kids, but in my opinion kids distract other kids. When kids are with siblings it’s a bit rough because they are always fighting and sometimes they just dont get along. Yes, this is not always true, but this is more for the parents who have kids that fight.
Here are a few strategies I use on a daily basis. First, I put on a kids show that will be the main background setup. Second, analyze the attention of each kid. Third, toys, snacks, and tablets are a parents best friend. Here’s why, bring out the same amount of toys so they all play with the same type of toy so they don’t fight. Don’t let them choose the color or style. Pass them out, later in the personal interactions you can build their choosing abilities.
Once the toys and show don’t distract them as much you work your way around the room to each individual kid. Eventually you’ll be able to distract them one by one. Bring out the tablets as last case scenario, just to distract them. I don’t always use the tablets with my kids but when all that is on the tablet is educational, I don’t mind as much.
